The ABLE Practitioner
(Accredited Blended Learning Enquiry)

The ABLE Practitioner programme is a collaborative approach to understanding and experiencing learning within your organisation. The emphasis of The ABLE Practitioner is to develop research engaged collaborative enquiry groups across the whole school or organisation.

Who is it for?

This programme is for the entire school community which may include students, parents, governors and other staff as well as teachers.

Who can apply?

  • Maintained schools (or non maintained special schools) in England with more than 100 students (includes academies and city technology colleges).
  • Schools outside England.
  • Non maintained/independent schools.
  • Smaller schools made up of triads or clusters who have a minimum of 20 participants.
What's involved?

Seven face-to-face sessions based around blentded learning. The programme is led by an in-school LCYP certified trained facilitator who is nominated by an appropriate leader from the senior leadership team and then trained and assessed at one of our delivery bases.

Duration

The programme usually lasts two terms or can be spread across the entire academic year.

Costs

LCYP Facilitator Training

£750.00 - This consists of two days comprehensive training and assessment including all materials and lunch with the next cohort begining in (January 2012).

Participant

£25.00 - Encompasses all My Learning Space (MLS) resources and ongoing programme support.
 
Funding
 
The majority of the cost for this seven session programme based in your school or organsition could be subsidised through the Department of Education's (National Scholarship Scheme) available through the TDA. To find out more click here.
 
What does the participant get?
  • Access to MLS and and a number of scholary articles drawing on the latest research
  • The ability to identify targets for personal development and school development as longer term outcomes
  • The ability to engage with research methods in your practice
  • Awarness of the ethical and political issues associated with selected researh methods
  • Pathways to accreditation at either undergraduate, postgraduate or masters level
What do the school or organisation get?
  • The opportuniy to make siginifcant steps towards whole school or organisation improvement
  • The embedding of professional learning communities within the school or organisation
  • Whole school CPD activity that is inclusive of the entire school community
